New Productions Debut!

Another show under my belt.
This one made me focus on Christmas waaaay before i'm used to.
Glad though, because you know, it's my favorite!
It's a full on craftstravaganza around here.
And that makes me happy.
Have a look at my goodies

Vintage Swedish tart tins

begged for a little glass and sparkle and a tiny little painting

to then be hung Mardi Gras style on wispy flocked branches

with bleeding hearts and crocheted pearls

royal birds and doves offering olive branches

crisp tea and finger towels ready for guests

next to  some of the old stock awaiting to be discovered by choosey fingers

while the new, and i must say, handsome art blocks await their new homes patiently.
not one sold.

So strange to guess what people you don't know would like to buy. It's such a gamble, these shows. But exposure and momentum have their own.

Tomorrow i will reveal Milady's jewels and a surprise!

Now, off to feed the horses, looks like snow and the husband is still housebound recovering from knee surgery.
I am the one woman wonder at this farm...the Art Farm!

It Takes a Village.....

Husband (left) and friends burning the midnight oil. Tate was gluing the image on the inside of the card! ;/

Husband made me beautiful rustic frames for my prints. A happy customer, Jamie from Arizona.

The tea towels have arrived and left within the first few hours!

Me and Tate, who is not looking very cowboyish for a change.

Michele, my partner in crime who i lovingly call "my left brain". We've been talking about doing this for years, it's finally happening and to top it off, we actually had fun working together! :)

Here i am personalizing prints for display...I dip the ink then hold my breath...one mistake and the whole thing is ruined!

The Milady Productions cards were a big hit! Here is the Estate pack found at my ETSY SHOP

And Woodland pack of 3

Christmas pack too
IT takes a village to make anything happen. I am ever so grateful for those who helped me make this dream come back from its long long slumber...the response was overwhelming and encouraging. I made some significant connections in that little ol park of mine in Ridgway, Colorado.  True Grit with John Wayne was filmed in that very setting. (google it)
who knew?!
Up  up and Away!!!!

Art Mom

http://www.kerismith.com/funstuff/100ideas

I love this entire concept of exploration and adventure in everyday living probably because that is how i tend to live my life!
I am also so curious about the mommy article...artists and mothers, creating and creation. I would love to add a blog about this...not the Martha Stewart perfect crafty childhood but more of a keeping it real platform for artistic moms. Its intense juggling all this creativity...i often feel as though i have a million kids, every little doodle and grandiose idea are all "kids" demanding my attention and yanking at my skirt. It can be quite challenging at times because guess what? The real live human kids always come first...even when the planets are all in line and your most amazing masterpiece yet is beckoning you into the studio. I hate that part.
A bit of advice: A wise woman once told me..."your talent will always be there for your whole life, your babies are only young once and need you, all of you."
Yes indeed...my 3 are my living masterpieces that certainly require all of me!

At Peace with It

you know that feeling every now and again when you get a break from your life and are given the gift of perspective, perhaps through some old long lost friend or just a moment in the breeze as you look out at your own backyard and see your kids playing with your friend's kids in the halflit dusty evening and think....yea.....it's all so perfect, i'm exactly where i'm supposed to be, i
really and truly am living the dream...well that is what happened this weekend.
The Peace with IT and the knowing that I am living the art I create.

Pika Package Power!

I'm all about the Pikapackage right now...its all i can think about. I am focused and in the groove of mindless creating...and I Am in LOVE with IT. experimenting, embracing the hand-made-ness of it all, crookied stitches and all.
as i glue, brush, snip and sew, i feel that i am doing exactly what i am meant to do...opening up my Etsy shop come May 1st is the next step. even my mess inspires me (see pics)
let me remind you, i create from a ranch-vacuum...i am literally all by myself in this, me and all my little milady friends and the freaky coyote that keeps running through my yard in broad daylight looking hungry. the choices i've made to live out here, have a bunch of kids, kiss the city art scene goodbye...have lead me right back to the heart of what I need: a global community of like minded artists.
THANK YOU AMY NG from Pikaland. Your excellent organization of creative crafty souls around the world is most appreciated!
knowing about this big world of kindred soul friends pushes me to do more, expand the image boundaries, draw that weird rabbit man i've been seeing in my journals for 20 years now.
Its all such a relief.
